We exist to provide cost-effective, uninterrupted natural gas to as many households as possible within our coverage area. However, we strive to not merely exist - we desire to thrive. We are committed public servants who use natural gas to impact our communities for good.
As committed public servants, we encourage our employees and those around us to be involved in their local communities. Many of our employees are locally involved through town council or civic organization memberships; we also have multiple employees who donate their free time as volunteer firefighters and rescue squad members. Faith is also important at WTPUD, and we have many deacons and pastors on staff.
In recent years, WTPUD has created a program to teach young children about natural gas safety. Each year, WTPUD visits every fourth-grade class in our coverage area to teach them various aspects of natural gas safety, including things such as safe digging. On top of the messages about safety, WTPUD has made it a priority to also teach kids the importance of integrity and to encourage them to always be a person of high integrity in everything they do.
WTPUD supports the local community through multiple avenues. Two of WTPUD’s chosen support organizations are Bethel University and the Dixie Performing Arts Center. These two organizations serve as unique strongholds for our community and are an excellent place for WTPUD to spread its message while ensuring these organizations excel now and for years to come.
Each summer, WTPUD offers a host of summer internships for local students. Many students return each summer throughout their school years. During their internship, students are offered a solid occupation while being exposed to many of the different tasks WTPUD employees complete daily. On top of earning a paycheck and seeing the daily natural gas tasks, internship employees are exposed to great, talented leadership with integrity and encouraged to take those virtues with them into the world.
